WHAT IS BAPTISM?
Sunday
- 11:00 AM July 27th, 2025
Baptism is a celebration here at Remnant Church.
Baptism is an outward expression of what has taken place on the inside of you.
The act of baptism is a proclamation to your friends, family and church body that you are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old you has passed away, and now you are completely new in Jesus.

Water Immersion
Baptism, for us at Remnant Church, is complete immersion in water that acts as a representation of what has taken place on the inside of you. Baptism represents what a believer experiences in Christ through salvation. Immersion in the water depicts us dying to ourselves. Rising out of the water illustrates us raising back up in Christ as a new creation.

BAPTISM IS NOT NECESSARY FOR SALVATION
While Jesus was our ultimate example of the importance of baptism, we must understand that you do not have to be baptized to be saved. However, it is something that is an outward expression showing everyone the new life you now have in Christ.
WHY SHOULD ONE BE BAPTIZED?
Matthew 3:13-17 Matthew 28:18-20 Galatians 3:27
- To follow the example of Christ
- To obey the commands of Christ
- As evidence that a person is a disciple of Christ
WHEN SHOULD I BE BAPTIZED?
If you have received Christ in salvation, then the answer is NOW.
Acts 8:36-38: “As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, “Look, here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized?” Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” The eunuch answered, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him.”
